IT 보안 전문 기업 엘엑스가 호스팅 전문 서비스 업체 미리내를 인수 합병하고 호스팅 서비스 고도화를 추진한다.

엘엑스는 네트워크 솔루션 해외서버전문기업으로 출발해 빠르게 변화하는 IT 환경에 발맞춰 엔지니어 중심의 연구와 기업 맞춤형 솔루션 개발에 주력하고 있다. 현재 VPN, UTM, IDC, 웹방화벽, 클라우드, 개인정보보호솔루션 등 기업이 필요로 하는 다양한 솔루션으로 사업 영역을 확장하고 있다.

북한 정찰총국 산하 해커 조직 ‘김수키(Kimsuky)’가 국내 서버 호스팅 기업 인프라를 구매해 피싱 공격에 활용 중인 것으로 확인된 가운데, 국가정보원이 법 제도적 보완이 필요하다는 입장을 밝혔다.


7일 이데일리의 ‘[단독] 北 ‘김수키’ 공격 인프라는 국내에…구멍 난 ‘호스팅 보안’ 보도이후 국정원은 입장문을 통해 “국가배후 해킹 조직의 국내 호스팅 임차서버 등을 이용한 침해사고 확인 시 업체와 협조해 사고조사 및 보안 대책을 지원하고, 유관기관과 관련 정보를 공유해 피해 확산을 차단하고 있다”며 “다만 이러한 피해를 근본적으로 차단하기 위해서는 해킹 악용 임차 서버 확인 시 서비스 차단 및 해지 조치 의무화, 임차인 신원 확인 등 법 제도적 보완이 필요하다”고 설명했다.

이데일리는 이날 北 해커조직 김수키가 서버를 빌려주는 호스팅 기업의 정상 고객으로 위장해 3년간 아무 제재없이 공격 서버를 구매했지만 정부기관들은 서로 책임 떠넘기기를 하고 있다고 보도했다.

이에 국정원은 2021년부터 김수키 조직이 지속적으로 악용해온 국내 서버 호스팅 업체 A사와 B사는 민간 업체인 만큼 직접 나서기는 어렵지만, 유관기관과 함께 피해 확산을 차단하기 위한 제도적 보완에 나서겠다고 밝혔다. 현재 민간 영역에 대한 정부 차원의 대응은 한국인터넷진흥원(KISA)와 과학기술정보통신부에서 맡고 있다.

중국이 정부기관이나 공기업에서 인텔과 AMD 등 미국 기업의 반도체가 탑재된 컴퓨터와 서버를 사용하지 말 것을 지시했다. 중국은 “보안 강화 차원”이라고 밝혔지만, 미국의 대(對)중 반도체 수출 규제에 대한 보복이라는 시각이 많다.

영국 파이낸셜타임스(FT)는 “중국 공업정보화부가 지난해 12월 발표한 정부용 컴퓨터(PC)와 노트북, 서버에 대한 지침에 따르면 앞으로 ‘안전하고 신뢰할 수 있는 프로세서를 갖춘 제품만을 구매해야 한다고 돼 있다”고 24일(현지 시간) 보도했다. 여기엔 미국 마이크로소프트(MS) 윈도 등 해외 운영체제(OS) 역시 사용하지 말라는 내용이 포함됐다.

중국은 지침을 내릴 당시 권장 프로세서 18종과 OS 6종을 공개했는데, 모두 통신장비업체 화웨이와 CPU 설계업체 페이텅(沸腾) 등 중국 제품이다. 해당 명단은 3년 동안 유효해 단계적으로 외국 업체 제품에 대한 퇴출 수순에 들어간 셈이다. 중국은 공기업들에도 2027년까지 사용 장비를 중국 제품으로 교체하라고 지시했다.

이 규정이 바뀌지 않는다면 인텔 등은 앞으로 중국 정부의 승인을 받기 어려울 것으로 전망된다. 중국 기준을 통과하려면 제품의 전체 코드를 제출해야 하는데, 핵심 기술 유출을 우려해 이런 규정을 받아들일 가능성이 낮기 때문이다. FT는 “외국 제품을 국산으로 대체하려는 중국 정부의 정책 가운데 가장 큰 조치”라고 평가했다. 이제까지 중국은 인텔의 최대 시장으로, 지난해 인텔 전체 매출의 27%가 중국에서 발생했다. AMD 역시 중국 시장 매출 비중이 15%에 이른다. 중국의 이번 가이드라인으로 양 사는 적지 않은 타격을 입을 가능성이 커졌다.

미국의 동맹국들에도 불똥이 튀고 있다. 미국 의회와 반도체 업계를 중심으로 한국과 독일, 대만 등도 대중 반도체 규제에 함께해야 한다는 압박의 수위가 높아지고 있기 때문이다.

이런 와중에 왕원타오(王文濤) 중국 상무부장(장관)은 최근 중국 철수설이 나왔던 SK하이닉스의 곽노정 대표이사와 22일 회동했다. 중국 관영 글로벌타임스는 이 소식을 전하며 “한국 정부가 자국 기업의 이익을 해치지 말고, 기업을 보호하는 합리적인 선택을 할 수 있기를 바란다”고 압박했다.

시진핑(習近平) 중국 국가주석이 26일 마르크 뤼터 네덜란드 총리와 정상회담을 할 예정이라는 로이터통신 보도도 나왔다. 네덜란드에는 세계 유일의 극자외선(EUV) 노광장비 제조기업 ASML이 있다. 이번 회담에선 중국 내 ASML 서비스 연장 문제가 논의 테이블에 오를 것으로 전망된다. 미국은 서비스 제공 기간을 연장하지 말라고 네덜란드 정부를 압박하고 있다.

레드캐슬은 운영체제(OS) 커널 수준에서 사용자 행위 기반 접근통제를 구현해 기존 네트워크 보안 솔루션이 탐지하지 못하는 공격 행위를 잡아낼 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
